Gachoka Kingori

Gachoka King’ori is a journalist, TV producer and award-winning creative writer. His career in the media started off at Nation Media Group (Newspapers Division) as a Parliamentary reporter and later Nation Broadcasting Division (now NTV) as a News Editor.

He later worked at Citizen TV (Royal Media Services) as a Senior News Producer/Editor, KTN (Standard Media Group) as News Editor and later at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) as Features & Special Projects Editor. He has penned a weekly humour column, The Hustler, in The People newspaper. As a media consultant Gachoka has offered services in Kenya, South Sudan, Zimbabwe, Tunisia, Sierra Leone, amongst other countries.

In 1997, while in his final year of study at Kenyatta University he was declared the best playwright in Africa (students’ category) by an Australian based writers’ bureau. Gachoka has written and produced more than 30 TV and radio drama programmes. He has authored a literature novel, Divided Life.
